Costs Involved

  • $75 for rookies $100 for veterans per season
    • Due by the first match of the season
    • Talk to Khris, Q, BC, and/or your respective TED about a payment plan (contact information and pictures on the Officers and Coaches page)
    • Save $10 for every rookie you recruit when they pay their dues
    • Save $10 per event for volunteering (up to $30)

  • USA Rugby Registration (i.e. the new “CIPP”) (Sept 1 – Aug 31) register in August.
    • Go to the link above.
      • Search by type: Senior Club
      • Region: Cap Rugby Union
      • Club Name:
        • Men: Rappahannock Rugby Club
        • Women: Rappahannock Women’s Rugby Club
      • “Register”
      • Choose your role. (95% of you will be “SENIOR PLAYER.”)
      • If you possess an additional certificate (coach, ref, etc.), choose multi-role.
      • Next.
      • Log-in or sign up.
      • Pay.
      • If you are just a “SENIOR PLAYER” it should be about $45. Make sure you select “SENIOR PLAYER”, not “SENIOR PLAYER – TRAINING“. If you wish to register as multi-role, it should be no more than $75.
    • Complete by 3rd practice or 1st game, whichever comes first

What Do I Need To Bring?

  • Cleats
    • Soccer are the most common
    • No studs at Embrey Mills (turf facility)
  • Mouth Guard
  • Black rugby shorts (for matches)
  • Water!
  • Lots of ENERGY!

Typical Match Day

  • Bring your
    • Black shorts
    • Cleats
    • Mouth Guard
    • Water
  • Jerseys will be provided
  • You MUST be registered (aka CIPP) with USA Rugby to participate in contact practices and play in matches
  • Home Matches:
    • Plan to be at the field at least 2 hours before kick-off
    • Warm-ups will begin about 1.5 hours before kick-off
  • Away Matches:
    • Plan to meet early at Gold’s Gym on Plank Road
    • Your full day may be devoted to rugby
  • After matches there will be a social with the other team at a local establishment. This is a fun part of the rugby culture but is not mandatory.
